a.k.a: Kimberly Queen Sword Fern, Australian Sword Fern, KQ Fern, Erect Sword Fern
The name Nephrolepis is from the Greek word nephros, or kidney. This is because the spore-case coverings are kidney-shaped. This fern spreads by creeping rhizomes, so eventually it can become a really big fern! The fern can be divided by hacking the rootball into sections with a shovel or butcher knife. If the Kimberly Queen fern dries out it will revive with a drink of water.
